Who we are
This website, makethemcurious.com, is run by Make Them Curious, a business registered in Ontario, Canada. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Make Them Curious. We are responsible for the personal information described here.

What we collect
We collect personal information only when you give it to us:
- Say hello form: your name, work email, the name of your business if you add it, and your message.
- AI check form: what you sell, your company name and the email address for the results.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Email: whatever you choose to include when you write to us.
When you visit, our hosting provider receives the technical information every website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We use it only to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our visitor counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits in aggregate and uses no cookies.
How we use it
- To answer you. Messages from the Say hello form arrive in our inbox, and we reply.
- To run the AI check. We enter what you sell and your company name into ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, the way a buyer would ask, and email you the results. Your email address stays with us.
- To send the newsletter, only after you confirm your subscription.
- To keep the site safe, including telling people from automated spam.
Your details stay off every list you did not ask to join. We never sell personal information, and we never use it for advertising.
Legal bases, for visitors in the EU and UK. Replying to you and running the AI check you asked for: steps taken at your request before any agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. The newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Security and aggregate visitor counts: our legitimate interest in a safe, working website.
Who processes it
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and handle your information on our behalf:

Each provider handles the information under its own terms and security commitments. We share personal information with nobody else, unless the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Our service providers store and process information in the United States and other countries. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of those countries, and courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it.
For visitors in the EU and UK, transfers rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Messages and AI check requests: one year from the last time we were in touch, then deleted.
- Newsletter: while you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, sending stops, and we keep only the record needed to show your consent and your unsubscribe.
- Technical visit data: as long as our hosting provider keeps it for security, under its own policy.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can withdraw consent to the newsletter whenever you like. Email hi@makethemcurious.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. In Canada you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. In the EU or UK you can complain to your local data protection authority, and you also have the rights to restrict or object to processing and to receive your data in a portable format.
The newsletter
You join by entering your email and clicking the link in our confirmation email. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes one click. We act on every unsubscribe within 10 business days, usually at once.

Cookies
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The details are on our cookies page.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection, the forms are protected against spam, and access to our inbox and tools is restricted. No method of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, so we collect only what we need.
Children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
When this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date.
